Get Involved

hands all in

There are various ways in which you can get involved in the work of the Youth council:

  • Pray - one of the most valuable things you can do for the youth council is to hold it in your prayers. Current prayer suggestions are:
  1. To pray for the autumn event that the Youth Council is planning, that we would continue to have ideas and that we've have the time, money and organisation skills to see those ideas come to life
  2. To pray that the council would find ways that it can effectively contribute to the ministry of Derby Diocese and especially ways in which we can use media and the internet to promote the Christian message

  • Tell us your views - we would love to know your views on the church. What do you like? What do you think could be better? What events would you like to see take place? We welcome ideas for new projects, concerns about the way things are currently and your opinions on matters arising in local and national news. If you know a council member then you can pass on your views through them or, if not, email us at ddyc@hotmail.co.uk. We will discuss and consider all your contributions. You do not have to be Christian or Anglican to share your views we want to hear from all people.

  • Join the council - there is a limit of 20 people set on the council size so that it remains effective and manageable but currently there are some places remaining on the council. If you are interested in becoming a council member then please email us with details of your name, age, parish and reasons for wanting to be on the council. You must be between the ages of 13-25 (inclusive) and worship within Derby Diocese.
