Meeting 4th April 09
The meeting was held in St Mark’s Church Lounge, Chesterfield. Lots of exciting events were talked about, including a sponsored exercise bike challenge to raise money for Brimington Church on Saturday 11th July, and the possiblity of sending some young people from the diocese to support the Maple Leaf Foundation in Vancouver, Canada, at some stage.
The main part of the meeting was taken up with planning for the 24 hour Prayer/Fast at Wingerworth Church on 2nd May, which will contain several activities as well as prayer and worship slots to take everyone’s mind off hunger!
Elections for the council posts will take place next meeting, which will be on the 19th June in Derby.
And finally, the website has been entered into the Christian Aid website competition, so everyone was encouraged to use their vote from June onwards.
